Mehera Shaw, a Family-Owned Fashion House, Launches New Shopping Website: Taking Fairly Made Fashion to a New Femininity

(PRWEB) June 15, 2006 -- Ever found the perfect little boutique somewhere in a small town and wish it could be in your home town? A boutique with the smartest dresses, the most feminine skirts, the “just right” summer blouse? Until now, Mehera Shaw Boutique, a family-owned fashion house, has been the amazing find tucked away in the Chapel Hill region’s Carr Mill mall.

Specializing in natural fibers and fairly produced fashions—sewn using couturier stitching and hand printing--Mehera Shaw designs are a colorful, feminine, and unabashedly happy collection of cotton blouses, skirts, and dresses that restore femininity. With the launching of their new web boutique, owners, Shari and Mark Keller, are putting their one-of-a-kind fashion house in everyone’s home town. Designer Shari Keller comments: “So many women are searching for the Mehera Shaw combination of socially aware, eco-friendly clothing and vibrant, feminine styles that we decided to become the great find in the web village.”

The small fashion house has always had a vision for the future: to connect eco-friendly and fair labor clothing with truly feminine sensibilities and to make their clothes accessible to the enlightened mainstream market. Their website offers a well-rounded collection of summer blouses, skirts, pants, dresses and scarves with user-friendly navigation in an artfully feminine site. Co-owner and jewelry designer, Mark Keller also displays his upmarket and one-of-a-kind ethnic-antique silver jewelry collections complete with vivid descriptions of the history and mythology behind each piece. The site is also very informative as the owners of Mehera Shaw take a vested interest in developing awareness about the history and methods of production of their clothing line.

“We are doing what the organic food movement has been working on for the past few decades: making a product of quality and value while also appealing to taste, or, in this case, style. We are making fashionable “restoration wear”, says Shari. “Our web boutique allows us, a small, family-owned company, to reach more of our customers and work toward greater sustainability.”

Mehera Shaw, is also developing their own collection of stylish organic/fair trade cottons. Their organic cottons will be incorporated into their seasonal spring/summer and fall/winter collections. They plan to carry their new product later this year in their Carr Mill boutique in Carrboro, NC and on the web at www.meherashaw.com.
