Breault Research Organization (BRO) Partners with SolidWorks to Become OEM Distributor: SolidWorks Parts 3D Modeling Engine Now Available with ASAP
TUCSON, Ariz. (BusinessWire EON) May 2, 2007 --
As an OEM Distributor developing next-generation optical software, BRO intends to unite optical simulation features with the CAD visualization and modeling tools product designers in industry depend upon - setting new capability and ease-of-use standards for optical software tools.
Under the terms of this partnership, BRO will now ship CAD-interoperable optical software products and maintenance continuations with the latest SolidWorks Parts 3D Modeling Engine.
While BRO will continue its partnership with McNeel & Associates, manufacturer of the Rhinoceros(R) NURBS Modeling package, Rhinoceros software releases will no longer be included with BRO products or maintenance continuations. However, the ASAP IGES format embedded in Rhinoceros shall remain in place so that established interoperability is unaffected.
According to BRO's VP of Global Sales Kimberly Matty, "Customer demand for greater CAD interoperability has inspired this partnership, which will improve the workflow between mechanical and optical engineers, and make optical simulations accessible to engineers in disparate fields."
Notice to BRO Customers:
BRO customers with a current maintenance contract covering a CAD-interoperable optical software solution provided by BRO are eligible to request a license of the latest SolidWorks Parts 3D Modeling Engine. Upon completion of this request, eligible customers will be shipped a license of SolidWorks Parts within five (5) business days. Ongoing updates to SolidWorks Parts will be shipped to maintenance customers as they become available.
