Making a Fashion Statement with Baroque Pearl
Popular and common pearls are usually spherical in shape. They are formed by mollusks, which attempts to get rid of irritants that enter their shells as foreign objects or minute worms. A study conducted by scientists showed that the larva of a tapeworm is responsible for the irritation, causing the mollusk to secrete nacre coating to the irritant and forming the pearl. In freshwater mussels, flukes also act as irritants. But in general, sand is the most common culprit that forms the nucleus. The mollusk surrounds the irritant and excretes nacre, which solidifies into a thin layer. After which, more and more concentric layers re formed until a spherical pearl is formed.

CustomGlamGirl.com Takes GREEN Steps With Eco-Friendly Fashion
Carmel, IN (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- CustomGlamGirl.com, an on-line leader in customized & personalized apparel, recently announced its new Eco-Fashion philosophy.
Matthew Stewart states "CustomGlamGirl.com is officially committed to taking greener steps in how we manage our business and in our product offerings. We are committed to doing our part by keeping our Eco-Fashion Philosophy at the forefront of our management decisions."
CustomGlamGirl.com has taken several steps toward going green. First, the company purchased two bikes and a company skateboard for employees to use as lunch transportation.
"With gas prices like they are and with our facility being in such close proximity to many local restaurants and parks, using bikes as a mode of lunch transportation only makes sense," Stewart says. " Besides, riding a bike is a positive step anyway - it promotes a healthy lifestyle and saves money!"
To encourage this, CustomGlamGirl has extended lunch breaks to give employees more time for a longer lunch commute.
In addition, CustomGlamGirl.com is also proud to announce that they will be adding a 100% Organic Cotton Tee to their product offering. "This 100% Organic Cotton Tee will be available in all of our categories - Men, Women, Toddler, and Infant," states Stephenie Wise, Co-Founder and CustomGlamGirl's Fashion Designer. Wise adds, " This product is more expensive for us to purchase, but we believe there is an interest in the marketplace for GREEN Tees."
From 2001 to 2005, organic cotton product sales increased an estimated 35 percent annually, from $245 million in 2001 to $583 million in 2005, according to Oakland, California based Organic Exchange. In their 2006 market report, they project global product sales will grow to almost $2.6 billion by the end of 2008.
